why would you write to him about this?
do you wanna talk to steve that badly, or are you just mad because you bought yours somewhere else for a higher price?
Well Duh....
I would guess a little of both.
Who WOULDN"T want to talk to Steve Jobs. My only problem is I wouldn't know what to say.

what type of computer and what OS are you running this card with??
if its on Panther see if you can get the Airport admin utility from apple's website somewhere, that would probably be your best bet, even if you are not useing an airport card....

I would think themes would fall under the "form" category, rather than "function"
Okat then lets just say that "Tweetie 2" is lacking in both form and function.

6 posts per day adds up to a lot if you keep it up for five years straight
i am at just under 4 1/2 posts per day and in my 5th year here, i am approaching 7500 total posts...i hope that makes me a "602" :)
So how soon until you get G5? ;)

Good thing I had it in my iTunes because it was gone from the store when I went to download it.
I bought Tweetie 1 when it first came out and have been relatively happy with it... now that I see Tweetie 2 is out, I was about to buy it ,when I noticed Tweetie 1 is no longer available. Doesn't anyone else see a problem with this? What happens if something happens to the Twitter API, forcing all developers of all platforms to rewrite some code. Wouldn't that mean the thousands of people who bought Tweetie 1 would be SOL?
I'm all for paying developers for coming out with newer versions of their software.. and people here are complaining about how the App Store buyers shouldn't be bitching about having to spend $3 here and there when normal Desktop apps can cost $10, $20, $30 etc.. but there's a difference... If I go to buy a Mac App, there's always the old version that I can download if I so choose.
I paid for Tweetie 1.. this means that if my computer goes, and I lose my downloaded version, i'll never be able to download it again? Or if i'm on the road and my iPhone has a problem and I want to re-download through the App Store, I can't? Sorry, but that's not acceptable to me.
Look at Pangea Software's Enigmo for example. I bought that and had fun with it. Enigmo 2 is out, but it's not replacing Enigmo... Both versions are available...
This is ridiculous. Especially when Loren and all his loyal followers are justifying the price because Tweetie 2 is a new app, not an upgrade. If that's the case then why is the app it's NOT replacing gone from the App Store?
This dude is scheisty. I wish I hadn't paid for either of his apps.

I agree 100% with both of your posts. It still bothers me that compressor is the only application that can make full use of both my Mac Pros CPUs.
And I really hate the look of low bitrate AVCHD but we have to work with it nonetheless.
rowlander, you can get compressor to work with more than 1/9th of a core?
That sarcasm is directed at compressor and not at you.
I WISH i could get compressor to work. Oh, sorry....I should clarify, to work beyond 1 frickin' file! If i start a batch, the only thing I'm not sure of is which error I'll get - it's usually 1 of 2.
Yet, I can use Innobits, Bitvice to compress MPEG2 files for DVD (and the ac3s) and well, wouldn't you know, this fine 3rd party apps makes all my cores jump with excitement without me even praying to get on my knees and cry for help :)
I'm a pretty laid back guy, but man compressor just busts my kahonies. Heck, I even emailed Mr. Jobs about it (although nothing back).
And don't even get me started on having to export to QT first. I do not even come close to understanding the logic behind that considering it's their own software!
BUT, compressor is stopping me from upgrading to an 8core so no more money for Apple in that case. No sense spending a few grand on a machine whose potential won't even come close to being tapped.
I don't drink, but feel like I should have one right now.
ugh :)

Now THAT would be a great addition. Fully editable iCal web interface with the new webmail interface would make .mac a lot better.
The only things missing then would be 2GB storage and a FASTER iDisk.
Right on! Many have said this in the thread and I agree!
And there was another post about email groups being usable on the web - agreed!
Although I have a .mac account and really like the short domain name, due to the weak web interface, I have used gmail as my primary email for the past year. In fact, there are only like 3 friends of mine that have the .mac address since I don't check it all that often.
And, do you think it would be too much trouble for Apple to supple a Mac and PC (sorry, that's what I have to use at work) notifier client for new mail?

Sounds like you got an older revision of the case. Apparently, the newer ones from Speck themselves are a little softer and easier to handle.
Nothing you can do about the one you have to make it softer. You can always try contacting Speck for a replacement. I hear they're pretty generous with replacements.

The best way to avoid the experience of the music industry is to respond to a changing market and give people what they want before they get mad enough to expend the effort to just take it and feel justified.
I couldn't agree with you more. The current model that the MPAA and the RIAA are trying to preserve is simply irrelevent with the advent of digital media as a realistic and easily obtainable alternative. They had a chance to embrace it and make serious changes to the way they do things (i.e. find some way to deliver content at essentially no cost to the consumer but still turn a profit through ads and other sponsorship, which would work because the cost of producing the content is decreasing really quickly) but they chose to fight it and they can't win. The iTS is a compromise between the two, but I'll stick to free media and pay to go to concerts for bands I like and see some movies in the theatres.

One of the patents:
Mobile telephone capable of displaying world time and method for controlling the same
An apparatus and method for calculating and displaying local time for a plurality of cities in the world. The apparatus includes a memory for storing Greenwich mean time (GMT) information for each of the plurality of cities. The apparatus sets a reference time and counts the time that elapses from when the reference time is set. The apparatus calculates a local time of a city selected by a user, which is based on a difference between the GMT of the selected city and the GMT of a present location of the apparatus, the reference time and the counted elapsed time. The reference time may be either a time set by the user or a system time acquired from a signal generated from a remote system.
How can companies get patents for such trivial algorithms???
