I also think the trackpad is better than the mouse.
I love my trackpad .. I can't even remember the last time I used the magic mouse. $70 wasted now

- Round corners on bezel: Check
If this is inaccurate, then Apple's claim is inaccurate as well. Because, sure, there are all sorts of details that make this phone different from the iPhone.
I'm not saying that the iPhone is ripped off from the F700. I'm saying that there are a lot of similarities, just as there are a lot of similarities pointed out in Apple's claim.
I predict they will not stick.

I haven't bought a single song from Amazon, not because I'm against them (I luv my Prime membership), but because they only sell MP3's that simply don't sound as good as an AAC file at an equivalent bit rate. Dropping the price to 69 cents doesn't improve the quality of the product and that's not good enough for me.

As far as the phones go? the looks are similar but still different looking.
Mmmm this sort of comments make me believe people do not really understand how production of something like a phone works. Do you guys think Apple started drawing the general outlook and tech aspects of the iPhone just AFTER seeing Samsung's P.o.s.? It doesn't take 1 month to come up with a project like iphone. I think Apple had this thing going on probably years before Samsung even started thinking about a touch phone! Point is, Apple makes the standard and everyone wants to copy it. There's leaders and followers. Apple is a leader. Period.

Also, the first MBA didn't have it, and they introduced it in the B revision. So they have been able to squeeze it in before where they weren't initially.
It would be a nice selling point for the upgraded model (as opposed to the base model), same as they did with the PowerBook for a while.

Anyone considered how this (technically) will work? How will the iPod detect where your hands are?
I seem to remember a rumour about apple developing a display which emebdded motion sensors or CCD's between the pixels in a screen. Could this be what they will use to see/sense what you are doing.
As an aside, it would be cool if they could inplement this into all their screens. How cool for flicking between pics of a laptop of changing songs in itunes.. endless posibilities!

not much room to maneouvre for eldiablo, except in deciding who to infect (if he hasn't done it already).
so tomorrow should be 4 vs 1 (or 5 vs 1 if the hunter is successful). with everyone with equal chances of being wolfized.

Once you are a market leader, it's almost impossible to be unseated in that market unless you make a lot of mistakes. It comes down to top-of-mind awareness. When you think portable music, what is the first thing you think about? iPod. 90% of consumers will buy from the brand with the #1 top-of-mind awareness, and it goes down steeply from there.
Apple needs the competition in order to evolve better products, but it's not a huge threat in terms of Apple losing the top spot. It may lose a few points of market share, but it will certainly continue to lead the market no matter how much cash Microsoft throws down. Apple is simply better at marketing, better at making things cool, and those are the two things that have made the iPod a success -- two things that, I might add, Microsoft is terrible at.
I wish Microsoft luck with this, but would advise stockholders to get out now.
